Adventure is out there!

Bug-A-Boo's 5th birthday party was a BRAVE theme and it was so much fun, but it was a lot of work.  For her 6th birthday we started talking to her early about having a party somewhere other than home.  Just like last year we threw around ideas of rollerskating, the zoo, the pool, etc.

In 2013 though, for Bug-A-Boo, everything was about Backyard Safari and scouting.  Bug-A-Boo loves animals and nature and she loves to explore outside.  For her 5th birthday she had received some of the coolest gifts.  All of the things were from a toy line called Backyard Safari.  She got an explorer vest and hat and an accessory belt and then she asked for a tent and several other accessories.  She would set up her camp in the backyard and spend hours playing.

Around this time I was also redecorating our living room to incorporate some elements from the Disney Pixar film UP!  Bug-A-Boo loves this movie as much as me and Prince Charming and as she would play Backyard Safari she would use our UP Wilderness Explorer Guide book to assist her in her adventures.  She even memorized the Wilderness Explorer motto.

The Wilderness Explorer motto:
"An Explorer is a friend to all, be it plant or fish or tiny mole." - Russell from UP!

So as the summer went on she continued to play Wilderness Explorer and she started to ask me about getting into a real Wilderness Explorer program (which led us to Girl Scouts, which is a whole other set of blog posts to come).

Finally the time came and we had to nail down a birthday party idea.  I asked her one day what kind of party she would like...roller skating, pool, zoo?  She looked at me and said, "I would really like a Wilderness Explorer party with just a touch of UP!"

Is she my daughter or what?  "A touch of UP!"?  I knew that meant another house party but I also knew that this was going to be Fun!!!!  Let the planning begin!

The Wilderness must be explored!
